The TEAMS Math Olympics is an annual competition for grade 7 and 8 students. It involves a written test, two paired activities and a 4-person team activity. Schools in the TEAMS region are invited to enter 2 students, consisting of 1 boy and 1 girl, one of whom must be in grade 7, the other in grade 8. This encourages equity and diversity in our participating students. If there is sufficient space, schools may enter additional pairs of students under the same criteria. The TEAMS region consists of schools in the TCDSB and those in the TDSB from the following legacy boards (pre-amalgamation): Toronto, York, East York and Etobicoke. Students competing from the neighbouring Toronto regions (e.g. Y4MA and SAME) would then be ineligible to compete in their local regional competitions.
The 2024 TEAMS Math Olympics will be held on Saturday, April 13. If your school is interested in attending, or you just want more information, contact us at TEAMS@oame.on.ca.
In the meantime, feel free to try some of the activities at the TEAMS Online Math Club.
