TEAMS hosted its first Speaker Series during the 2021-2022 school year.  The virtual series was divided into the Elementary and Secondary panel with speakers covering a range of topics. Our goals for this series were to:

• develop both mathematical and pedagogical content knowledge
• inspire the use of instructional strategies
• build communities of learners
• explore current research, mindsets and philosophies of math education

TEAMS is planning another virtual session for January 22, 2024. Do you or your students like music?  Think it might help to engage some of them in math?  Join us for a virtual MathBeat session, presented by Shaun Elder, of the Royal Conservatory of Music, on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 6:30 pm.  It is no cost for OAME members or teacher candidates, and is $10 for non-OAME members. Register will be through MCIS.  We are also considering follow up sessions for those who try it out and want to use it even more effectively.
